Ogenyi Onazi will be out to defend Lazio’s cause when they go on the
road trip against Cagliari in a Serie A tie tomorrow. Having featured
for only 45 minutes in the 0-1 home loss to Atalanta last week, Onazi
and teammates would be fighting tooth and nail to make-up for lost
ground against Cagliari in a bid to keep their Europa League
qualification aspirations alive.
After 27 round of matches, Lazio are still three steps away from their desired position sitting 8th on the league table with 38 points. The modest side needs to garner more points to push into the 5th or 6th place on the log with just eleven round of games to go in the season.
Cagliari are way down on the log in the 15th place with 29 points and won’t want to be a sitting duck against their visitors, to avoid a possible descent into the relegation mire.
Juventus are arguably the run-away title winner in Italy, sitting comfortably in the lead with 72 points with their closest rival, Roma, trailing way back with 58 points in the second place.
