Image maker of foremost grassroots soccer governing body, YSFON, Ben
Ekpo has joined the growing list of Nigerian soccer fans who want Spain
based striker Ike Uche included in the Super Eagles Brazil 2014 World
Cup squad.
Ekpo in a chat with Daily Sunsports urged Eagles manager Stephen
Keshi to forgive whatever misgivings he has against Uche and recall him
to the team in the interest of the nation.
“We are going to the World Cup and we must go with our best legs. If
we had not gone to South Africa as members of one family, we would not
have won the AFCON 2013 trophy, Keshi must have this at the back of his
mind ahead of the World Cup,” Ekpo said.
He stated that the Eagles attack would definitely get better with
Uche in the team. He stressed that the Eagles failed to do well in the
FIFA Confederations Cup last summer because several key players were
missing.
“We must not return to Brazil without players who ordinarily would help Nigeria to do well,” Ekpo warned.
