Gareth Bale has stressed that Real Madrid are brimming with confidence ahead of this weekend's La Liga match against Barcelona and do not fear the Catalans.
Madrid
beat Schalke 3-1 on Tuesday evening to make it 9-2 on aggregate in
their Champions League round of 16 tie and Bale feels the Santiago
Bernabeu side are in fine form ahead of the Clasico.
"We're
playing well, with a lot of confidence and we're on a good run. Now we
have to prepare really well for the next match against Barcelona," Bale
told the official Madrid website.
"Barcelona are a direct rival and we are going to try and put in a good performance and take the three points.
"They have some very good players, but we are focused on our game and on our team because we also have very good players."
The
Welshman then went on to praise Cristiano Ronaldo in the wake of the
prolific attacker's double against Schalke and insisted that the
Portugal star is the best around in the game.
"Cristiano's the best in the world, he is spectacular and an example to everyone."
Ronaldo has netted 41 goals in 37 appearances in all competitions for Madrid so far this term.
